eLMS - Library Management System enables the librarians to automate the handling of items (books, magazines, newspapers, periodicals, journals, compact discs and cassettes) so as to reduce the time considerably by providing an on-line seamless interface to choose, view, maintain & update a library. Thus providing a user-friendly navigation to the users of the library. eLMS is designed for library users and any functional Librarian without forcing them to have any Library Science background.

eLMS is :

Secure: The access to the system is controlled through the user authentication by a combination of login and password. Depending upon the level of sensitivity of the system in the live scenario the security software (like SSL) can be installed and configured in the server.
Role Based: The system is modelled around four roles namely Administrator, Librarian, Member and a guest. All the four roles have unique privileges and have to work within their domain only.
Easy to Use: The system has been designed to have a uniform and similar interface for all the roles and functions. The functions have been logically grouped together in a hierarchical order. The terminology used in the system is quite generic and easy to understand. Supported by on-line help, which is explained to help the user in case of any difficulty.
Scalable: Shows a continuous qualitative improvement with better hardware and has an ability to adapt to your system smoothly and economically as your requirements change.

eLMS offers :

On-Line Search: Extensive catalogue searches are provided based on a mix and match of Author, Title, Keyword and/or Subject and supported by alphabetical search. The search is enabled on continuous characters within a full name.
On-Line Reservation: Registered members of the library can reserve the items based on their access privileges. The reservations are automatically cancelled after the pre-defined number of days.
Circulation: The librarian checkout and check-in is designed to have a full view of a member status in one screen. The checkout & check-in is fully governed by individual members membership type. The over due days, fines and return information is automatically calculated and displayed. The reserve information is also displayed to help the librarian in checkout.
Announcements: Any general announcement like change in the library rules, or new arrivals or weeded out items can be made on-line through e-mail to all or selected members.
Book Reviews: Any registered member can feed the reviews of an item (book) and can view the reviews of other members. Unlimited reviews are allowed.
New Arrivals: Any member including a guest user can view the last arrivals in the library. A date based arrival is also provided.
